This is always the hardest weekend for a coach. Did we train hard enough? Did we introduce the new dive at the right time? Did we prepare mentally? Did we eat right? Did we rest at the right time? Will this athlete make the cut to get a bonus week? Will this athlete …. I think you get the point.
Divers started things off last night. Channing finished 4th and Hannah finished 9th. Channing’s score of 344.35 was good enough to earn her a trip to Madison. She is the first diver since Denai Vogel in 2004 to make it to Madison.
Swimmers had a great French Toast and Bacon and Fruit breakfast this morning and then a traditional viewing of Mean Girls and putting on nail polish. And no I did not put on nail polish!!!
The 200 Medley Relay of Briana, Makenna, Katie, Fallyn missed the school record set back in 1995 by .04. Their time of 1:53.67 will qualify them to go to Madison.

The 400 Free Relay was led by Amanda’s lifetime 100 free best time, then had Chloe, Janelle, and Hayley finish it off strong.
So, in a recap, it was a very exciting past two days. I cannot speak for Coach Courtny and Coach Brian, by I think they would agree that it was the best performance of the season. It came at the right time, and it validates all of the hard work that we put in during the season. For Channing in diving, the 200 Medley Relay, and Briana in her two individual events, we get to go into the bonus week.
