Drums Please

After months of work and planning, it finally happened.  The new Scoreboard was Ordered Today!  There are not enough words to describe the excitement level right now.  This will have an impact on the Swimming and Diving programs for years and years.

Capital Improvement Project Update

Have received a number of emails asking me how the Capital Improvement Project for the North Aquatic Center is progressing.

It is going OUTSTANDING!  And I thank everyone for all of the tremendous support along the way.  The amount of tears and sweat and fun and pain has been great, but we are closer and closer to our final goal.

To Recap:

Swim-A-Poolza happened.  And as the young kids say, it was “Off the Hook

Starter and New timing Console were then purchased.

And now, as my friend Will Smith says in Summertime….Drums Please

The new Touch Pads and Caddy for said Touch Pads has arrived and has been assembled.

They will all be used together for the first time this Thursday as part of our Pack the Pool event.   This is the kick off to Breast Cancer Awareness

Tears from a Grown Man

Last night we completed the first part of the North Aquatic Center capital improvement project.  This was just an idea back in the Spring.  We ran our first meet in 5 years without a Single Timing Failure.  Almost had to take a deep moment of silence to be by myself after the 400 Free Relay last night to realize what had just happened.

Pretty sure that no one outside of the Parents, the Athletic Director’s, and the team really understand the effort that was put into this project thus far.  This has been a project that is starting to come to a realization.

And there will be no rest until we get all the pieces together.  In the “Evil Plan” this is the first step.  Improve the quality of the surroundings to allow the Student/Athlete the best possible experience to succeed.

Next step is to get the Touch pads.  We had one literally break at the connection point last night.   We probably have 6 working ones right now.  We will have meetings over the next couple of weeks with the Booster Clubs.  This should prove to be very exciting.
