It is really refreshing when we can go to meets and see the excitement in the athletes eyes when they realize that they are doing something that we have done in practice, and then executed it to near perfection in competition.
We saw a great deal of that at Cedarburg on Saturday morning. Now that does not mean we do not have more work ahead of us, but we put a great deal of the pieces together. Thing are starting to click and we definitely moving in the right direction.
Sprinters getting the proper turnover, not talking cheater breaths in and out of turns, aggressive relay exchanges….all positive things.
I know that is what Coach Courtny and I felt that way after the meet, and after talking to Coach Brian when they returned he felt the same way. Below are his notes.
Christi placed 7th with a score of 133.7 and Sammy placed 10th with a score of 129.35 – in the six dive competition out of 18 divers. Both are first year divers that are off to a great start for what will surely be promising years ahead on the WNKM Diving Program. Channing went from 10th in the prelims to 8th in the semifinals and in the end secured 7th place in finals with a score of 326.65 – in the 11 dive competition out of 26 divers.
